Proper 21 - F Street

My fiancée took me here for Valentine’s Day. The atmosphere was great and the service was excellent. I ordered the braised short rib and he got the bolognese. The short rib was the best I have ever had. I asked the waitress for the chefs recipe and the manager, Eric, came to our table and gave us his business card to contact him for the recipe! It was so nice. Everyone was very polite, professional, and sweet. We ended up getting the chocolate chip cookies with ice cream and they gave us a second plate of complimentary chocolate covered strawberry’s. They made our Valentine’s Day extra special - will be going back if we make another trip to DC. Thank you guys :-)

We stopped by for a quick bite, and we really enjoyed the two appetizers we tried. The calamari and wanton tuna nachos were absolutely delicious, and the pistachio martini was just perfect, chef's kiss!

The food was excellent and the value for money was really good. Everything tasted fresh and well prepared. Our waitress Diana was especially friendly, attentive, and made us feel very welcome. Overall, a great experience!!

Staying at the JW Marriott nearby and after an early morning and flight in, my wife and I hit up this place for a late lunch. Sat at the bar. Started with the lobster bisque which was very good. The chunks of lobster were a delicious touch. I had the smash burger, and my wife had the salmon burger. Strongly recommend both. Being excited about a new menu coming out, they let us try the French dip... Fantastic!!! Also, told me bread and pasta is done in house. Enjoyed it all with a Solace Lucy Juicy Double IPA. Highly recommended. Top notch place with a friendly staff.

First time visiting last night, Upon entering the ambience was amazing, aesthetically alluring, and the food was good. Service was a bit slow . Overall we definitely enjoy the restaurant. A lil loud, but what the heck the entire time we took in the aesthetics which were absolutely beautiful. Definitely on my Tik Tok as a top rated restaurant.

I Love Proper 21!!!!!! Love the vibe & the ambience. The food is amazing. 10/10 Choi, Manny, Diana, Brianna, Stephanie, Mike, Kidd, Pablo, Victor, Miguel, Herber, Izzy, Melvin are all the best ever. Very friendly, welcoming, knowledgeable just overall AMAZING! The new food menu is out of this world! I highly recommend! Thank you guys for your great hospitality.

Proper 21, on both occasions, has been one of the best dining experiences I’ve had in a long time. We arrived during mid dinner service and were seated immediately. Our table was lit with a cute candle and decorated with pretty flowers. We started with drinks (red wine and spiced rum cocktails) that were absolutely delicious. Stephanie, our waitress was quick on her feet and very polite (and hilarious, she’s got jokes haha) For our starter we had the poke nachos. Wonderful sashimi laid over crispy wonton crisps, 10/10 would order this again. The main dishes were even better, the short rib was giant and cooked to perfection, while my partner got the curry salmon- also cooked wonderfully. For dessert we ended up getting the churro waffle, which was the perfect sweet treat to end the night. Overall I would recommend anyone in the area to give this place a try!

I’ve been coming here for years and one thing about Choi and Manny, they always give me a great time. The drinks, their vibes, their authenticity can’t be matched. They know my drink of choice is a margarita which was amazing as always. But then, Choi and Manny informed me some of my favorites were gone but recommended the Bolognese and Crispy Honey Chicken Sandwich and it was to die for. If you’re ever in the area, stop past Proper 21, and get served by the best. You won’t be disappointed.
